Scenario You are working for a software house as a junior programmer. You have been asked to create a prototype program in C++ for the following client. A dance club has requested that the company that you are working for looks into the ticketing system that they are using. The manager, Gordon Johnson, has found that they do not keep accurate records of how many tickets they have sold for a class which has resulted in some classes being too crowded. It is important in case of a fire or other emergency that they keep a check on numbers for health and safety reasons. Another problem is that the money at the end of the day does not always match the number of tickets they have sold. Anita Khan, the owner is experiencing some financial difficulties with the business and needs to increase profits. She would like to be able to computerise the system so that it will reduce queues and maybe in the future to include a self-service machine. Mr Johnson would also like to computerise the wages system but this is also something to be considered for the future. The owner needs to take the business case, for the computerised ticketing system, to the bank to get finance for the project. The company issue tickets for Adults, Children (under 16) or Concessions. There are 3 classes each evening at different levels. The classes are ballet (class 1), salsa (class 2), and Bollywood (class 3). Currently when a customer arrives for a class they select which class they want to join at which level (beginners, intermediate or advanced). Classes for Adults are £4 for beginners, £5 for intermediate £5.50 for advanced. Children are £1.50 less for each class. Concessions are £2.50 for all classes. Only one ticket is printed for each transaction which must be shown to the tutor. The ticket has the date, class name, level and the price paid. Mrs Khan has mentioned that she would like to see the total number of tickets sold in each category for the day, as this information will help her to revise costs and possibly expand the service.
